Green Hill Trail Summit Hike, 1:00: Sunday, September 24, 2017
Location: Top of Green Hill Provincial Park, Pictou County

This is a new trail and begins at the Provincial Park on top of Green Hill near Alma. It begins with a steep downhill and then a more level section to the road below. The return is challenging but there could be car-pooling for those with medical or conditioning restraints. The view from the top is MAGNIFICENT and the walk (especially downhill) is very pleasant though just a bit steep at the start and through the 4 switchbacks. Otherwise old growth hemlock, mixed and birch/poplars stands and a smooth trail make for great walking and enjoyment of a natural setting. Two more sections will be added to this trail and it will become one of best so why not come out a see the first part? See you there!

Six Mile Brook Trail Loop Hike, 1:30: Sunday, October 01, 2017
Location: Six Mile Brook Trail, Pictou County

Hike begins in the Six Mile Brook Rd. at the Trail Head Kiosk.

HOW TO GET THERE: Those coming from Truro direction; Take Exit 19 from 104, turn right on Route 4 and left after 400 m onto Six Mile Brook Rd. Then follow the "walking man" signs to the trailhead which is just past the gravel pit and over a small bridge on the right (small parking lot).

Optionally, hikers can meet at Deb's Hidden cafe at 1pm (sharp) and drive as a group from there.

This hike will be to the Bothy, then continuing around the loop back to the top of Dalhousie Mountain returning to the trailhead via Mas Young. It is about three to four hours and the climb to the top is challenging but there is the option of doing an in and out to the Bothy.

Fitzpatrick Mountain Fall Colours Hike, 1:30: Sunday, October 15, 2017
Location: Scotsburn

Meet at Deb's Hidden Cafe in downtown Scotsburn and we’ll decide exactly how and exactly where we'll go based on those present. This trail is steep in parts, almost all wooded and goes along the top of the crest of Fitzpatrick Mountain extending from SW to NE with beautiful views especially at the towers. The fall colours should be MAGNIFICENT! Bring snacks, water, extra clothes in case conditions change (layers are best) and a "have fun and enjoy nature and hikers" attitude!
