Green Hill Trail Summit Hike, 1:00: Sunday, September 24, 2017Location: Top of Green Hill Provincial Park, Pictou County
This is a new trail and begins at the Provincial Park on top of Green Hill near Alma. It begins with a steep downhill and then a more level section to the road below. The return is challenging but there could be car-pooling for those with medical or conditioning restraints. The view from the top is MAGNIFICENT and the walk (especially downhill) is very pleasant though just a bit steep at the start and through the 4 switchbacks. Otherwise old growth hemlock, mixed and birch/poplars stands and a smooth trail make for great walking and enjoyment of a natural setting. Two more sections will be added to this trail and it will become one of best so why not come out a see the first part? See you there!
